Regina business worksheet

Farm-season cash and minimum cushion

Choose a period such as the months before crop payments. Enter expected cash movements for that same period, with farm household drawings included where the business will fund them.

Cash forecast only; this is not taxable farm income or an AgriStability calculation. Do not count undrawn credit facilities or unsold grain as cash already received. Include borrowing only when it has actually arrived in opening cash or is explicitly forecast as a receipt. Include loan interest once in operating payments. Enter each cash outflow once, including sales taxes actually paid, even when a later GST credit may be available. Keep restricted funds outside opening cash. Split seeding, growing and harvest into separate periods: positive ending cash does not rule out an earlier shortfall.

Estimate GST and PST on a mixed invoice

Enter the full before-tax subtotal, then the portions subject to each standard tax. Keep approved zero-rated or exempt lines out of the relevant taxable amount.

For ordinary domestic sales with 5% GST and 6% PST on their respective before-tax amounts. Classify each invoice line first: zero-rated, exempt and fully taxable are different treatments. The two taxable amounts can overlap; they are not added to the subtotal. Farm status alone does not establish an exemption. Excludes special rates, accommodation, liquor, tax-included prices, other provinces' rates and exemption decisions. Rates checked September 6, 2026.
